Description
Wind indicator TBSWV1 SDI-12 with SDI-12 interface
The TBSWV1 SDI-12 wind indicator from Tekbox is a versatile wind indicator with SDI-12 interface. It offers two operating modes. The device can either measure short-term wind direction or measure the average wind direction over a configurable logging period.
It is based on a robust aluminum housing with polyester coating. Precision, low-friction bearings and a stainless steel shaft make it a very reliable device. The use of a magnetic rotary encoder as the sensing element eliminates the disadvantages associated with reed switches used in conventional wind vanes.
Optionally, the wind vane can be supplied with an integrated heater for defrosting.
The device can output wind direction and temperature.
Wind direction can be measured as a short-term value (simple mode) or as an average value (advanced mode 1 and 2) over a configurable logging period.
In advanced mode 1, the wind direction is measured every 3 seconds. The measured values are then averaged over a configurable period that must be a multiple of 3 seconds, up to a maximum of 60 seconds. The average values are then collected over a configurable logging period. At the end of the logging period, the average wind direction for the logging period is calculated and stored. After a measurement command, the result of the most recently completed logging period is provided.
