Description

Turbidity sensor IR ‘C’ Suspended solids – sensor for environmental research

The Turbidity sensor IR ‘C’ version of Partechs is a reliable infrared sensor for suspended solids and turbidity monitoring. The device is targeted at applications within environmental monitoring and research. It is specifically developed to work together with various types of data loggers, which are commonly used by universities and other research institutions.

The sensor produces an output signal that can be calibrated via the logger or via a spreadsheet. Here it is possible to add a linear response to the actual substances found in the water being monitored.

Overview

The sensors have provided data for a wide range of academic papers in applications from glacial streams in the Alps, through tropical rainforest rivers in Borneo to meltwater in Greenland and sediment transport in the Humber Estuary.

Many theses and doctoral reports have been used with IR ‘C’ sensors.

The device is characterized by being exceptionally easy to implement and having a very low power consumption. There are no hidden costs when purchasing these sensors.

It is possible to put together a monitoring package with a logger, power source and weatherproof housing. These packages allow data to be retrieved without visiting the installation site, keeping project costs down and allowing measurements over large areas.

Measuring range:
IR100C – 0-200 mg/l
