Description
Solar panel RTU TBS12S for SDI-12 sensors
The Solar Panel RTU TBS12S from Tekbox is a solar panel powered outdoor RTU that is fully compliant with LoRaWAN 1.02. The device is designed to handle applications where SDI-12 maximum range is a limitation by utilizing the long range of LoRa. The TBS12S is supplied within an IP67 rated die-cast aluminum housing along with a fixture to tie it to a pole.
Powered by a rechargeable battery supplied by an integrated solar panel, the TBS12S is an upgraded version of the TBS12B for applications that are more demanding (typically when multiple SDI-12 sensors need to be deployed in the same location).
Its connector allows for direct connection of an SDI-12 sensor or a junction box if multiple SDI-12 sensors are to be installed locally. The integrated LoRa modem supports both low (433/470MHz) and high (868/915MHz) LoRa radio bands, making the TBS12S suitable for use anywhere without having to replace the RF board.
The TBS12S is inserted as a unique node in a typical LoRaWAN network architecture, sending its packets to the gateway, which forwards them to the LoRaWAN server via a TCP/IP connection:
The device is compatible with SDI-12 V1.3 sensors and has flexible LoRaWAN settings. For example, set frequencies and data rates or configure the platform with the PC application. Set measurement and transmission intervals in the correct time zone and with alignment to other devices.
