Rain Gauge 50202 – Precise measurements without moving parts
The Young 50202 rain gauge accurately measures rain or snow precipitation without moving parts. Insulated housings and thermostatically controlled heaters allow operation in temperatures below freezing.
Unlike conventional tipping bucket and weighbridge gauges, the 50202 has no moving parts, making it ideal for use on mobile platforms such as buoys and ships. Precipitation measurement is made with a capacitive transducer and an electronic circuit that produces a voltage output. Total precipitation can be tracked by a data logger or recorder.
