Description
Propel anemometer 27106 – 27106T – a precision instrument
The Propel anemometer 27106 – 27106T from RM Young is a precision, single-axis wind measuring instrument.
The device uses a fast-response helicoid propeller and high-quality tach-generator transducer to produce a DC voltage that is linearly proportional to airspeed. Airflow from any direction can be measured, but the propeller responds only to that portion of the airflow that is parallel to its axis of rotation. Off-axis response closely approximates a cosine curve of appropriate polarity; with vertical airflow, the propeller does not rotate. The output signal is suitable for a wide range of signal translators and data loggers. The standard Model 27106 with expanded polystyrene (EPS) propeller provides maximum sensitivity at low wind speeds. An optional Model 27016T with carbon fiber thermoplastic (CFT) propeller is available for greater range and durability.
