Description
Piezometer 615 – economical tool for measuring groundwater levels and vapors in the soil
The Piezometer 615 from Solinst is attached to an inexpensive, standard 20 mm steel pipe, which can be purchased at your local plumbing or hardware store. The piezometer is intended for one-time installations, and not to be taken up and reused. These piezometers are most often installed as permanent well meters, but due to their low price they can also be used for temporary, short-term measuring tasks. High-quality samples can be retrieved by connecting a polyethylene or Teflon hose to the measuring head. Groundwater sampling and water level measurements can be made through the hose, using small-diameter equipment, which is also available from Solinst.
The Pizometer 615 can be driven directly into the ground using standard pressure or drilling equipment, including the use of a simple, portable, manual ram, which can be supplied with the equipment.
Applications:
- Groundwater sampling including VOCs
- Water level measurements
- Flow measurement in underground water streams
- Sampling of gases and vapors in the soil
- Economical and with minimal impact on the local area
