Description
Multisensor RTU TBSL1 – a range of modular RTUs
The Multisensor RTU TBSL1 from Tekbox is a product line of modular RTUs, featuring a common platform and a socket for a modem daughter board.
The modem card is then not only replaceable, but also completely plug and play without having to update the platform’s FW. For example, the user can freely switch from LoRa to 4G by simply replacing the modem card.
TBSL1 is designed as a future-proof RTU and a highly flexible platform for IoT ecosystems.
TBSL1 / RFB-LORA – MULTI-SENSORS LORAWAN RTU
TBSL1/RFB-LoRa is a versatile outdoor RTU that acts as a multi-sensor wireless bridge that leverages the long range of LoRa. This is a flexible platform that offers rich connectivity to several common sensor interfaces used in agricultural applications: SDI-12, pulse, and analog.
TBSL1/RFB-LoRa allows the connection of up to 2 SDI-12 sensors (or more with a junction box), 2 analog sensors and a pulse sensor (e.g. a rain gauge). Thanks to the large internal flash, TBSL1/RFB-LoRa can store sensor measurements over a long period of time in case of communication interruption with the server.
The platform is fully configurable: multiple types of sensors can be connected, and each of them can operate on its own time basis for measurement.
The built-in LoRa modem supports both low (433/470MHz) and high (868/915MHz) LoRa radio bands. This makes the TBSL1/RFB-LoRa suitable for use anywhere without having to replace the RF board. The TBSL1/RFB-LoRa is deployed as a unique node in a typical LoRaWAN network architecture. It sends its packets to the gateway, which forwards them to the LoRaWAN server via a TCP/IP connection:
TBSL1 / RFB-4G – MULTI-SENSOR LTE RTU
TBSL1/RFB-4G is a versatile outdoor RTU that acts as a wireless bridge with multiple sensors. It can operate on any LTE or 3G network thanks to its dual mode modem.
This is a flexible platform that offers rich connectivity to several common sensor interfaces. Can be used in agricultural applications: SDI-12, pulse and analog.
TBSL1/RFB-4G allows connection of up to 2 SDI-12 sensors (or more with a junction box), 2 analog sensors and a pulse sensor (e.g. a rain gauge). Thanks to the large internal flash, TBSL1/RFB-4G can store sensor measurements for a long time. This is convenient in case of communication interruption with the server. The platform is fully configurable. Several types of sensors can be connected and each of them can operate on its own time basis for measurement.
TBSL1/RFB-4G relies on the MQTT protocol to exchange data with the application server. This ensures robust transmission and guarantees a quality of service. At the transmission interval, the platform establishes a (secure) TCP/IP connection with the MQTT broker and publishes its measurements. At the same time, the platform responds to potential configuration messages it subscribed to or to firmware via the FOTA procedure.
