Description

The Pulsar PDFM 5.1 Handheld Doppler Flowmeter is a portable flowmeter that is mounted to the outside of a pipe to achieve pipe flow measurement in the closed pipe. The ultrasonic Doppler technology used by the portable flowmeter makes it perfect for use as a water flowmeter, especially for dirty or difficult liquids containing bubbles or solids, such as wastewater, sludge, chemicals, viscous liquids and abrasives.

The PDFM 5.1 is ideal for evaluating system performance and can be installed, calibrated and started up in minutes. The smart thing would be to use this flowmeter where a permanent flowmeter is not required, or to temporarily install flowmeters when fixed meters are being serviced or similar. It is quick and easy to operate, the sensor is mounted on the outside of a pipe in less than a minute, and using the built-in keypad and calibration menu, the flowmeter is set up for the application.

With its integrated battery, the PDFM 5.1 will operate all day and can be recharged overnight. For continuous use, connect the included 110-240 V AC wall adapter. Alternatively, use sleep mode to only turn on when it needs to take a measurement, at regular intervals, which extends battery life. A 300,000-point data logger is built into the flow meter.

Display units are user selectable and the Handheld Doppler Flowmeter PDFM 5.1 will display and totalize flow in gallons, liters, cubic feet or cubic meters depending on your needs. If you change from one measurement system to another, the handheld flowmeter will automatically and instantly calculate and convert the total flow display and totalization. Calibrated to pipe size by entering the inside pipe diameter.

Applications where a non-contact ultrasonic flow meter would be perfect include inlet and outlet flow, industrial pipe flow, irrigation flow, food and beverage manufacturers, pharmaceutical processes and many more!
