A level switch is used, among other things, in pumping stations and pumping wells as an extra safety feature if the level gauge breaks and the pump does not start. A level switch is in principle a simple construction, consisting of a ball that floats on the water and tilts around, and a rocker switch. Yet the level switch from Nolta stands out significantly.
Unique construction ensures longer service life
The entire construction of Nolta’s level switches is cast, so there are no moving parts. There are no internal cables that can break, twist or otherwise be damaged. The casting also means that no water or gas can get in. This is crucial for durability, because more than 20 percent of damaged level switches are damaged by H2S (hydrogen sulfide).
In addition, the contacts are plated with gold. This ensures a good contact, every time, even for low-energy electrical circuits such as PLC inputs. It is often too much resistance in the contact that causes a competing level switch to fail. And the gold also helps if, contrary to expectations, a little H2S gas gets in, as gold does not react with H2S.
